Shenzhen Bicycle
Shenzhen with its nearby areas, as one of the three major bicycle manufacturing zones in Chian, have paid great attention to the bicycle’s quality and export as well as the building of bicycle culture in order to show its bicycle characteristic. The bicycles here have good reputation world wide because of their good quality, fast updating and upgrading, keeping close to the trend and the leading role in China’s bicycle industry’s innovation and development. More and more international professional bicycle quarter are considering Shenzhen as the leading city in world bicycle field.

Shenzhen and Pearl River Delta region are the oldest and biggest. Largely started two decades ago, it is now comprised of about 200 assemblers and over 300 parts makers, mostly foreign owned, employing 100,000 people, with annual revenue of a whopping US$12 Billion! The world’s largest makers of chains, tires, seats, forks, handlebars systems, carbon frames, and foldable bicycles are all situated and prospering here, along with many world class enterprises. These help form a relatively advanced life cycle in R/D, production, procurement, and sales. Such competitiveness has made Shenzhen/Pearl River Delta into a leading center for mid- and high-range products for China and the World.

In touch with, and sometimes, leading world bicycle trends, this Southern center makes one out of every nine bicycles yearly consumed by mankind. Most, including many famous brand names, are exported to the Developed World. Along with quality parts much sought after by assemblers everywhere, Shenzhen/Pearl River Delta maintains leadership in technology, quality and revenue, despite the more recent development of the other two centers of production in China. (The fast developing Central and Northern centers are known for their lower ranges of products, in that order). As high-lighted by the successful “1st Shenzhen International Bicycle Show” in the spring of 2004, and plans to build the multi-billion USD “South China International Bicycle Industry Park”, the Pearl River Delta continues to attract high-end buyers and investors, while enjoying strong support from the City and Central Governments.
